The latest version of the four-door coupé from Mercedes-Benz adds new design highlights. With the two Burmester sound systems, the CLS benefits from the maturity of the E-Class and the S-Class.
Under the stylishly curved roof of the Mercedes-Benz CLS, in combination with the 1450 watt system performance, the 23 high-performance speakers of the Burmester High-End 3D-Surround-Soundsystem ensure a virtual headroom which let disappear the boundaries of the vehicle, giving the feeling of being in a concert lounge. The uncompromising concept of the Burmester system is based on the Mercedes-Benz S-Class which redefines the standards for musical playback in a car.
With the combined expertise of Burmester and Mercedes-Benz, intelligent algorithms and height speakers in the roof lining are put to use to provide the unique 3D sound. In addition to the upwardly extended listening stage, the design placed great importance on achieving a level of balanced co-ordination which combines precise location and finest detail rendition to create a relaxing "feel-good sound".
Alongside the Burmester High-End 3DSurround-Soundsystem, Mercedes-Benz alternatively offers the Burmester Surround-Soundsystem for the new CLS. With 13 speakers, Frontbass technology and a DSP amplifier with a total output power of 590 watts, the smaller system will also indulge the ears with natural and substance-rich sound. In the four-door Coupé, the switchable surround function generates a good dose of virtual surround sound to make mono or stereo recordings even more spacious. Of course, the Burmester Surround-Soundsystem also reproduces real multi-channel sources. The Front/All/Rear function allows sound adjustment to the front, rear or all seats.
